- Went to Edison Middle School in Wheaton, Illinois.
- When he was on Saturday Night Live, he was in a sketch in which he plays an old man who is the "last" surviving member of the original SNL cast, whom he visits in a cemetery. Ironically he was the "first" cast member to die.
- His favorite comedienne was Lucille Ball, he knew every detail of her life & career.
- Had signed to play a supporting role in "Once Upon a Time in America."
- At the time of his death, Belushi was rewriting a script entitled "Noble Rot."
