- Before their mainstream success as "Pearl Jam", certain members had recorded successfully as Green River, Mother Love Bone and Temple of the Dog.
- The name Pearl Jam was an inside joke having to do with a hallucinogenic, peyote-laced jam that Eddie's grandmother Pearl was known for.
