- Graduated from West Orange High School in West Orange, New Jersey before moving to California.
- Director Doug Liman originally did not want to cast him in Go (1999) because Katie Holmes was already in the movie, and he did not want the movie to star 2 TV actors. However, he saw him talking in a hallway with Jay Mohr and realized that the chemistry between the two would be good in the movie.
- Got the role of Bailey Salinger on "Party of Five" (1994) after Jerry O'Connell pulled out, due to taking the lead in "Sliders" (1995).
- Was engaged to Alyssa Milano and, after their breakup, lived with Paula Devicq for a year.
